Earth Systems Corporate Seminars 2017
Earth Systems hosted its annual Corporate Seminars March 31st and April 1st in San Luis Obispo, CA. This is an opportunity for senior and emerging leaders throughout the company to share case studies and lessons learned on pertinent professional subjects.
In addition to company staff, every year Earth Systems brings additional outside experts to share presentations specific to the geotechnical engineering and materials testing/inspection industries. Most noteworthy, 2017 highlighted guest speakers:
- Don Greb from Griffin Soil Group who talked about soil stabilization using lime and cement;
- Andy Siemens from Siemens & Associates who joined our own Kyle Martinez to explain geotechnical applications of surface geophysics;
- Craig Harrington from Pavement Recycling Systems explaining sustainable engineering with in-place recycling technologies for asphalt pavements; and,
- Chris Gardner from the Wallace Group. Chris talked about building an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) program.
Culture of Change
“This year our theme was a Culture of Change,” states Craig Hill, CEO of Earth Systems. “Earth Systems is continually improving. We must be willing and able to change. First of all, we all know change is hard. But, not changing is fatal.”
Fred Potthast, President of Earth Systems Pacific continued as the M.C. for the event. “This is important for the company,” adds Fred. “With offices all over the state of California, these seminars let us network on both a professional and social level. It gives us a chance to share the changes and developments in our industry.”
