Earth Systems conducted a geotechnical engineering investigation for this project, as well as updated recommendations as the project underwent design changes prior to construction. The project consisted of eight mixed use commercial/residential buildings up to five stories tall, with up to two levels of subterranean parking. Additional site improvements included a swimming pool, retaining walls, and on-site stormwater detention systems.
The investigation consisted of review of available geotechnical and geologic literature and reports, seven hollow-stem auger exploratory borings, two bucket auger borings, installation of a groundwater monitoring well, six backhoe test pits, geotechnical laboratory tested of selected soil samples, and geotechnical analysis of field and laboratory data.
