The original Bello Street Bridge was constructed in 1913. In 1983, the bridge was closed to traffic due to an advanced state of deterioration that rendered it structurally deficient. After 40 years, vehicular access across Pismo Creek was restored by the construction of a new 130-foot long, three-span, cast-in-place prestressed concrete slab bridge.

Associated improvements included adjacent roadway approaches, paving, and storm drain installation.
