The Living Desert

Earth Systems conducted a geotechnical engineering investigation for the planned Phase 1 Entry way at the Living Desert in Palm Desert, Riverside County, California. The proposed improvements included two, one to two-story buildings and a nearby 40-50’ tall entry tower. The buildings total approximately 7,000 square feet. Additional site development included clearing and grubbing of vegetation, site grading, building pad preparation, underground utilities, a basin and drywells for runoff detention and percolation, pavement areas, flatwork, concrete driveway, and sidewalk placement.

During construction, Earth Systems was retained to provide grading observation and testing.
Improvements included a new wallaby holding building and aviary space placed underneath the Coyote Café seating expansion.
