The Museum of Ventura County is located in the downtown area of Ventura across the street from Mission San Buenaventra. The proposed project was to build additions to the existing Museum. They were to be about 20,000 square feet in area and to include a 40-foot high grand tower. This expansion project was a phased development. The first phase was completed in 2011 and consisted of the Pavilion and the Plaza. These spaces are used for many public and private events.
Earth Systems prepared a geotechnical engineering report for expansion of the Museum in the downtown area of Ventura. Earth Systems provided recommendations for grading and structural design along with an analyses of liquefaction and fault rupture hazard within the State of California Special Studies Zone for the Ventura Fault.
