The new Consolidated Dining Facility at Camp San Luis Obispo is of structural steel, masonry and steel stud construction. Conventional continuous and spread foundations were used, with concrete slab-on-grade. Construction of the building pad and parking areas entailed approximately five feet of overexcavation and recompaction. Earth Systems provided testing and inspection services for the project, including compaction testing, certification of grading operations, and special inspection of concrete, masonry and welds.
