Perris Union High School District
Perris, California
The project included construction of approximately seven (7) one to two story school buildings, a turfed football stadium complex, an aquatic center, ball fields, hardcourt play areas, and associated parking areas. Ground floor total square footage of the building areas was approximately 193,197 square feet. Additional improvements included underground utilities, landscaping and construction of the parking areas, underground water detention reservoirs, stadium seating, and playfields.
Earth Systems conducted a geotechnical engineering investigation for the $150 million Liberty High School, which is located in the southeast Menifee area of Riverside County.
Challenges at the site included a significant amount of site grading to construct conventional level building pads, parking areas, and associated level playfields, hillside grading, shallow bedrock, and expansive soils.
During construction, Earth Systems was retained to provide grading observation, materials testing, and special inspection for structural concrete, rebar, and masonry.
