As a registered professional engineer in California, Girmay has over 13 years of experience and a diverse background. Prior to joining Earth Systems, he was a geotechnical project manager in northern California where his duties included project management, planning, foundation engineering, settlement evaluations, slope stability analysis, seismic & liquefaction analysis, laboratory testing, instrumentation, as well as review of distressed structures and development of remediation options. He has also worked as a design engineer for various civil engineering projects.
Girmay holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Civil Engineering from Arbaminch University of Ethiopia, as well as a Master of Science in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering (M.S) from California State University, Sacramento. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Geotechnical Institute and has been active in the local chapters.
