The Malibu Jewish Center and Synagogue (MJCS) is the first major synagogue in Malibu, CA. Set on five acres, the 15,000 square foot indoor/outdoor complex has a modern glass and wood design by famed architects Ed Niles, FAIA and Michael Barsocchini. Construction of the complex was completed in 2006 and a new school is planned for the near future (designed by David Gray Architects).

Earth Systems completed the geotechnical engineering and engineering geology for both projects which is located astride mapped splays of the Malibu Coast fault.
